Dreamlifts

Sunshine Foundations Dreamlift for Mercer County takes off in the first to second week of May every year. The Dreamlift is where 90 plus kids and chaperone's load up a plane and head to Disney World for a whole day. The plane usually takes off around 8am and will return around 10pm that same night. The kids get to cut all the lines once they are in Disney for the rides, food, etc. For the chaperone's, it's a very exhausting day. For the kids, it could possibly be their only or last trip. The plane leaves Mercer County Airport from the National Guard Hanger off of Scotch Road in Ewing Township. The turn out for the Dreamlift is outstanding. No matter where you look, you will find movie characters, team mascots, firefighters, local township police and of course the New Jersey State Police who are one of the main sponsors of the Dreamlift. If you ever get a chance to attend one of the Dreamlift's, it will truely change your out look on life. We think we have so many problems and so much difficulty in our lives. These kids and their families have more problems and difficulties in a day than we do in a week. The Dreamlift gives these families a chance to set their problems aside just for one day and focus on something different. Something that they can reflect on in a time of trouble or pain.
