Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Sunshine Foundation?

The Sunshine Foundation was founded in 1976 by retired Philadelphia police officer Bill Sample. The foundation works towards granting wishes for seriously ill, chronically ill, physically challenged and abused children from ages 3-18. The foundation is non-profit and runs solely on donations and time given by volunteers. Without the volunteers, it would be near impossible for this foundation to operate. Sunshine Foundation is in fact the "original wish granting organization". For more information, please visit their web site - www.sunshinefoundation.org

You will then be listed on our Web Site, Facebook page and in our Ad Book stating that you are a sponsor of our tournament. Your companies logo/ad will be displayed in all three of these locations.  A link will be built in to your companies logo/ad that will go to your web site when it is clicked on when accessed from our Web Site. Your companies logo/ad will be accompanied by text stating that you support the Sunshine Foundation and this tournament which raises money for the Sunshine Foundation. Your sponsorship fee will be a donation to the Sunshine Foundation. Please email or call the Tournament Director (info on bottom of each page) and request an Ad Application Form.

Where and how do I sign up for the tournament?

Click on Forms and locate the link labeled 2012 Team Registration. Print out this form, fill in ALL of the information, send the form and a check for the specified amount to the address shown. When filling out the roster portion of the registration form, please print clearly and double check your spelling of your players names. Next, you will find Accident Waiver Form links for the players, managers and coaches. Please print these out, have each player's parent/guardian sign the Players Accident Waiver Form and have each manager, coach or acting coach sign the Manager/Coach Accident Waiver Form and send it with your check and registration form. If the accident waivers are not signed by a parent/guardian (for the player), manager, coach or acting coach - they CAN NOT participate. No exceptions. Lastly, we will need a copy of your team's proof of insurance. You will be considered officially signed up when we receive ALL of the documents mentioned above. What is the accident waiver and why do I have to sign it?

The accident waiver form is a form that was created to protect the foundation from any action by anyone who is injured while participating in our event. We must protect the foundation at all costs. This event is not held or sponsored by the Sunshine Foundation, they are just the beneficiary. By signing this form, you are stating that you will not take action against the Sunshine Foundation in the event of an injury or any other event while participating in our tournament. Any questions or concerns on this matter should be directed towards the tournament director.

What will my donation go towards? (see Mission Tab regarding Tournament Donations)

Your donation can go towards anything that you choose. You can make a donation towards our annual dreamlift by purchasing a seat for a deserving child. You can make a donation towards a childs dream which could be anything from a swingset to a computer and anything in between. Every month a list of child's dreams is published by the Sunshine Foundation Headquarters. For more information on this list, you may contact the tournament director or the Sunshine Foundation Headquarters directly. Any donations made through this web site or for our tournament will go directly to the Mercer County Chapter of NJ. There are children right here in Mercer County that have dream requests and that is who benefits from our fundraising efforts.
